ABOUT CULT

Well hello there! I'm so glad you decided to stop by. My name is Dylan or DGMF and I am the founder of Cult By DGMF. At its core, Cult is safe space and a sense of belonging(and we just happen to make DOPE cruelty-free skincare). My story is like many others. I was raised in an evangelical christian household as a child. Soon I began to lean into my queerness, open-mindedness and, quite frankly, mental health. As this journey began I chose to depart from religion all together as an act of self preservation. With my core community no longer a part of my life I felt this sense of loneliness/longing. As I grew older I found myself in the fitness and design industries and in these places I noticed a sense of comfort within the burgeoning connections. Over time these connections spread like roots from a quite excitable tree and one day a lovely human in my class referred to me jokingly as a cult leader.  In that moment it clicked, I was within a community of people that cared about me, and others around us. My brain went into HOLY SH*T mode and I knew that someday I wanted everyone to feel like they belong. After letting this concept bounce around in my head like the DVD screensaver, finally it hit the corner PERFECTLY. What does everyone on earth have in common? SKIN. When reading this back it does sound a bit, creepy, BUT I digress. A year or two or three later, Cult by DGMF was born. Working with Formula Labs based in Southern California I was able to fill a unilateral need for myself and hopefully EVERYONE ELSE. So, in the end, whether or not you end up using Cult, or you just had the pleasure of trying to keep up with my ever-roving story telling, I want you to know that you belong. It's as simple as that.
